So Random Saturday: IM A MEAN MOM!

Im the meanest mom!

It all started a few years ago, when I let my oldest son start playing "war" games on his xbox.

I knew that his friends had these games and he enjoyed playing them. With him wanting to be a cop and interested in being the army when he gets older I didnt see any harm.

Well over the years and after spending lots of money on games like "Black Ops" and "Socom" and seeing a huge change in his behavior and one day watching him play one of these games and actually hearing what they say in the game and the actual content of these video games I finally said NO MORE!

Me and Joseph (my significant other/daddy) agreed to get rid of all the war games and any game with the rating of Teen or Mature.

My son who is 9 of course is upset and now I feel bad cause I feel like he should have never been able to play these games in the first place. Its been about a month since hes been able to play any of these games and I have seen a huge change in his behavior, for the better. We turned in all the "bad" games for "good" games.

I do feel though now that I am isolating him but in my heart I know I made the right choice!

Super random I know just wanted to share this emotional time as a mommy and maybe see if other mommys have gone through this?

My favorite Tummy Control Cami :)

I've tried A LOT of tummy control camis, spanx, even body suits that suck it all in!

Im not a fan of "power panties" or the tummy control underwear I feel like those flatten my booty haha

And Im not big on the body suits that suck it all in.. not comfy at all! I am a fan of Tummy Control camis, I just wanted to share my favorite! Im super picky when it comes to these some are super tight around the bust area and can flatten your boobies.  :) So yeah here is my all time fav.... this sucker actually take inches of my waist !

Tonights Dinner Tuesday:
Sweet & Sour Chicken (Low Calorie Style) Served with Brown Rice
OMG This was sooo good! 

iNGREDIENTS

• 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
• 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
• 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
• Ground Black Pepper, To Taste
• 1 Pound Trimmed Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast, Cut Into Bite-sized Cubes
• 1 Tablespoon Toasted Sesame Oil
• 1 Cup 1/2“ Wide Strips Onion (about 1” long)
• 1 Cup 1/2“ Wide Strips Green Bell Pepper (about 1” long)
• 2 Tablespoons Freshly Minced Garlic
• 1/4 Cup Bottled Sweet & Sour Stir-fry Sauce (I used La Choy)

Directions:

• In a large bowl, combine cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and pepper and mix well.
•  Add the chicken and toss until thoroughly coated.
• Place a large nonstick skillet or nonstick wok over high heat. When hot, add 1 teaspoon sesame oil, onion, green pepper, and garlic. Cook, stirring, until the garlic softens and the vegetables are crisp-tender, 2 to 4 minutes. Be careful not to overcook or the garlic may burn. Transfer the vegetables to a large bowl and cover to keep warm.

  Return the pan to high heat and add another teaspoon oil and half the chicken in a single layer. Cook until the pieces are lightly brown on the bottom. Flip the pieces and continue cooking until chicken is no longer pink and juices run clear, 4 to 6 minutes. Add the cooked chicken the the bowl with the vegetables. Return the pan to high heat, add the remaining oil and cook the remaining chicken.

  Return the vegetables and chicken to the pan to reheat if needed. Transfer to a medium bowl, add the sauce, and mix until well combined. Divide the stir-fry among 4 bowls, and serve.

CRAVINGS SWEETS!

Lately Ive been craving sweets and we all know sweets=sugar and sugar=fat "/

So to cure my sweet tooth I go with the good ol fruit, my favorites are Peaches (raw), grapes, kiwi, Pink lady apples, strawberries and watermelon!

Also I reach for light or fat free yogurt, Fruit Roll Up (the kids haha) or my skinny cow packets !

A small bowl of cereal (nothing too sugary)

Save Money Sunday: Kids Clothes!

Hello and HAPPY  NEW YEAR! <3

I can not tell you how happy I am the holidays are over :)

Im off to a great start so far.. house nice and clean, laundry is all done, purse reorganized and cleaned and the mini van is even nice and shiny!

So I was cleaning out the kiddos closets and sorting the kids clothes, now many of you know I have 2 boys and 2 girls (also 2 step boys!)

Now what Ive done for awhile now is hand my oldest (9) sons clothes down to my youngest boy (soon going to be 4) and of course I only store the clothes that made it haha things like jeans, shorts and jackets and a few shirts. This saves me so much money on the expensive things like the jeans and jackets!

And I think its awesome my youngest (Noah) is so honored and happy to wear his big brothers old clothes! I plan on doing this with Mariah (7) and Bianca (7months) 

Don't be afraid to "hand me down"

So what I did recently was created a storage bin for Dominics clothes that don't fit him anymore and that are in good condition and a storage for Mariahs clothes that no longer fit her.

One is labeled Noahs future clothes and the other labeled Biancas future clothes :)

These are stored in their closets up out of the way on the top shelves! 

Now if you don't have 2 boys or 2 girls.. another option is to take your childs un used clothes to a Twice as Nice or Buffalo Exchange (these are stores here in Az) or to your local Hand me down/Trade in store. 

You'd be surprised at what you find! I love shopping at these stores even for myself.

I bought Dominic (9) a pair of Az Jean co. jeans (looked brand new) for $6

I've gotten tons of clothes for the kiddos at thrift stores and walked out paying $50

Also don't be afraid to buy clothing a little bigger

No Im not saying ridiculously big, for example Noah will be 4 next month, he wears a size 4t now that FITS him, I will now start buy 5t, it may be a little big but nothing super noticeable, I do this with their shoes as well, if Mariah fits in a 13 1/2 Im buying the 14.

I get a few extra months outta things this way :)

Also when shopping at Target, Jc Penny or Old Navy.... most of the time I only buy from the "sale" sections or clearance racks !
